About 4Wheel Drive Hardware

Four Wheel Drive Hardware (4WD) is the leading mail order and Internet distributor of Jeep parts and accessories. 4WD is headquartered in Columbiana, Ohio.

Tom Kennedy, the founder and owner, and a four-wheel drive hobbyist, conceived the idea for his company out of his own need. A friend got him interested in racing and working on Jeeps, and he found himself quickly falling in love with the sport. Tom frequently needed quality replacement parts that were often hard to find. His search for good suppliers resulted in the idea of providing the same service, at a reasonable price, to other four-wheel drive acquaintances–and 4WD was born in his two-car garage more than 30 years ago. Tom Kennedy is no longer with us, but his spirit lives on within the company.

In 2006, 4WD was acquired by Transamerican Auto Parts Company, LLC. Transamerican Auto Parts is one of the largest automotive aftermarket parts and accessories companies in the country, and with the addition of 4WD and Performance Products, they will now be a leader in the automotive aftermarket for Jeeps, Porsches, and Mercedes.

Transamerican operates 48 Four Wheel Parts Performance Centers in 17 states, and is poised to take 4WD to the next level.

4WD has prided itself in providing innovative and unique parts and accessories to our customers. As a result, 4WD have become the industry leader to Jeep owners around the world. We pledge to you that we will continue to improve on every facet of our business. For our long-term customers, we would like to thank you very much for your business and support. For those of you that have not done business with us yet, we hope you give us a chance to show you why we are the leader in the industry.

In 2002, 4WDH got together with the owner of JeepsUnlimited.com, the world's largest Jeep bulletin board. Ever since we have owned JeepsUnlimited.com, the site has grown even further and has over 45,000 members worldwide today. If you are looking for a great Jeep community with lots of technical advice and just a bunch of Jeepers helping one another, JeepsUnlimited.com is the place to visit.

PRESS RELEASE

Tim McGraw to Perform at Camp Jeep® 2007 on July 26
  • McGraw, a Jeep owner himself, will perform at the brand's annual owner event on July 26 in Charlottesville, Va.
  • Camp Jeep announcement builds on the brand's sponsorship of "Soul2Soul Tour 2007"

Auburn Hills, Mich. -- On the heels of announcing its sponsorship of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's "Soul2Soul Tour 2007," the Jeep® brand confirmed today that McGraw will play a special concert at Camp Jeep on July 26 at the Oak Ridge Estate in Nelson County, Va., near Charlottesville.

Camp Jeep 2007, the brand's annual "owner only" three-day mix of off-road driving and other family-friendly outdoor activities, will be held July 26-28.

"We always try to bring in phenomenal entertainment for our owners attending Camp Jeep," said John Plecha, Director – Jeep Brand Marketing and Global Communications. "But having Tim, who currently has one of the hottest singles on the country charts and is himself a Jeep owner, will be a special treat for everyone."

The Jeep partnership brings the couple's relationship with the brand full circle. In 1996, as McGraw and Hill tell the story, they borrowed a 1978 Jeep CJ to go for a ride while playing a concert in State College, Pa. It was on that drive that the couple decided to build a life together. Several years later, Hill tracked down that red Jeep and gave it to McGraw as a birthday present. The couple now affectionately refers to it as their "Date Jeep."

During McGraw's Camp Jeep performance, the Grammy-award winning country artist will play some of his number one hits, including "Live like You Were Dying," and "Real Good Man," and his recently released single "Last Dollar" from his new album "Let It Go."

McGraw and Hill's "Jeep presents Soul2Soul Tour 2007" will kick off on June 6 in Omaha, Neb., and will include 34 performances, including first-ever performances throughout Canada, over a nine week period. More information about tour stops and dates can be found at www.soul2soul2007.com.

Registration and additional information for Camp Jeep, which is open only to Jeep vehicle owners, are available at www.jeep.com/campjeep. Early bird registration is $245 per vehicle through March 31. After that, Camp Jeep registration is $295 per vehicle.

The last time Camp Jeep was held in Charlottesville in 2004, nearly 10,000 Jeep vehicle owners and their families attended, making it the best-attended Camp Jeep ever. This is the sixth time that Camp Jeep has been held at the Oak Ridge Estate. The first Camp Jeep was held in Camp Hale, Colo., in 1995.
